Master the Market Workshop

Published March 5th 2024 in The McDowell News, written by Grace Fitzgerald.

Do you have a farm or food business that you want to grow? Are you dreaming of starting a business but don't know where to start? Have you thought about becoming a vendor at the Marion Tailgate Market?

On Thursday March 7th, you can attend a free workshop at the Foothills Food Hub to learn about becoming a vendor and selling your products at the Marion Tailgate Market. Attendees will learn from two experienced and passionate business owners who will share how to overcome barriers to becoming a vendor and how they grew thriving profitable businesses at the Marion Tailgate Market.

Stacie Edwards of Edwards Family Farms and Katrina Hoyle of Hoyle Son-Shine Artisan Works bring years of experience in growing their respective farm and food business by serving the community weekly at the Marion Tailgate Market.

Workshop attendees will be invited to bring questions and participate in a discussion about overcoming barriers to selling at the Marion Tailgate Market and what to expect when becoming a vendor at the Marion Tailgate Market. All interested participants are welcome to attend, with no obligation to apply for a vending space. Participants are not guaranteed vendor space, but are guaranteed the opportunity to learn how you can make your business a viable applicant and a successful vendor.

In its second year of organizing the Marion Tailgate Market, McDowell Local Food Advisory Council (LFAC) seeks to grow the market as a thriving seasonal affair built on community, connection, and collaboration. Register for the "Master the Market" workshop and learn how LFAC can support you in becoming a vendor and growing your business.

The Marion Tailgate Market is open May through October on Saturdays from 10am-2pm in the heart of downtown - 67 W. Henderson St., Marion Questions can be directed by email to Grace@FoothillsFoodHub.org. You can register for this free workshop at www.FoothillsFoodHub.org and click the Calendar tab to locate the “Master the Market” workshop.
