about foothills food hub

EST.2018

At Foothills Food Hub, we are proud to work alongside more than 84 farmers in the Western North Carolina region, each of whom is dedicated to producing high-quality, locally sourced food. Our goal is to build a thriving local food system, and we achieve this by purchasing the freshest produce, meat, eggs, and other locally grown food items. These are then distributed to the community through a variety of channels, including pantries, distributions, and other trusted partners.

In 2023, we were able to purchase 92,080.12 pounds of fresh produce, meat, eggs, honey, and rice from our local farmers. We were thrilled to be able to distribute this bounty of healthy and nutritious food directly to our community via various programs, pantries, and distributions. Not only did we provide access to high-quality food, but we were also able to support and uplift our local farmers, strengthening our community as a whole.

We couldn't fulfill our mission without the assistance of our dedicated volunteers. We depend on the support of our community, from sorting produce to distributing food boxes. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our volunteers for their unwavering commitment and hard work.
